Alden Shoe Co.'s engineers have designed a unique new last that offers 5/8" depth while maintaining control of the heel to give precise fitting. Super D shoes are manufactured using the softest nappa tanned upper leathers and linings. Soft yet strong, Super D shoes are genuine welt construction, and will not break down or surrender when confronted with the toughest cases. Super D is designed for the treatment of diabetic feet where ulcers must be healed. Super D is designed for hypersensitive arthritic feet where painful pressure spots must be cushioned and rebalanced for comfort. Super D is designed to accommodate the deformed foot, hammer toes, overlapping toes, foot edema, and the post surgical foot that must be ambulatory and protected. Super D is featherlight, (up to 47% lighter than other shoes) is super soft, is strong and durable unlike temporary footwear. Solid all leather construction. How does it work? Super D is designed with a last shape that allows more depth than any production shoe on the market today - up to 5/8 inch plastizote inserts, yet retains firm hindfoot control, firm heel fit. Super D has a pronounced high walled area around its forepart for added hammer toes or overlapping toe accommodations. Need even more room? Just ease out the toe area because the toe box has been designed to keep out of the way! Super D can take the place of custom shoes and mismates. Just feel the soft upper and soft leather vamp lining that make stretching and reshaping so easy. Super D is quality, has a leather insole when you must use a shoe without an insert on one foot or both feet. Important for added comfort but more important for shape retention and brace attachment on a welted shoe... solid all leather construction. Super D features Nappa Tanned leather uppers so soft they feel like deerskin, yet with the strength and durability of cowhide. Fully lined with glove leather for comfort and ease in reshaping. Why? Because leather will accept and hold a stretch far better than canvas linings. Super D is the last resort in fitting a severe foot shape problem or foot condition. It allows a total contact foam insert to be used in a conventional shoe for everyday wear. It is not intended to be temporary footwear during treatment because it can perform with any permanent foot gear. It is featherlight, soft, but strong, a great combination.
