Special Features: The Amboot's lace-to-toe design allows complete adjustment in
girth as well as a wide, unobstructed opening for gentle insertion of a rigid foot, a flail foot, even a sensitive, padded and bandaged post-operative foot. In cases of deformities that previously required expensive custom boots, the width and depth accommodation of the Amboot have proven it to be a successful alternative to custom footwear.
A sloping topline eliminates chafing at the back of the patient's leg in the prone position during night splint work or similar situations.
A completely padded boot, the Amboot's surgical foam interlining is covered with soft glove leather throughout. Providing firm but gentle control of the sensitive post- operative foot, the Amboot is well-suited for cases of multiple fractures, skin grafts, and other delicate surgical situations.
Extra wide, foam padded tongue allows for the expansion of wide lacing in cases of swelling. The tongue design allows for easy trimming as swelling recedes and the width of lacing is reduced.
Neutral Straight Last: Designed to accommodate either a right or left foot, Alden's
Amboot eliminates the expense of splitting pairs of stock boots for use on one foot only.
Brace Compatible Heel and Shank System: A pre-punched reinforced shank plate

makes for easy brace attachment. Shank holes are marked on the insole and designed to accommodate all sizes and angles of stirrup position. The Amboot's shank design virtually eliminates the difficulty and cost of drilling through the shank plate. An oversized heel designed to accept a brace stirrup eliminates the extra time and expense of a custom built heel to cover the forward end of the stirrup. The heel is smooth-scoured, finished and ready for permanent attachment using the provided packet of screw nails.
Medical Uses: A sophisticated, multiple-use surgical and brace boot. Use Alden's
Amboot with internal prostheses of all types where protection, support, and redistribution of pressure can make a patient ambulatory and improve circulation. It is often able to accommodate severe deformities that previously required a custom boot.
